Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose leaf)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type)
  • 45 fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 12 teaspoons vanilla syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the halved cherries with 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until softened, then gently mash to release juices.
  2. In another pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil and steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes before removing the tea bag or straining loose leaves.
  3. Add the milk to the saucepan with cherries and optional cinnamon stick. Heat gently while stirring without boiling.
  4. Stir in vanilla syrup until well combined.
  5. Pour brewed tea into your mug, add the milk-cherry mixture while straining out solids, stir well, and serve hot or poured over ice.
