  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander

  • 1 can (14 oz) full-fat coconut milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on a clean workspace.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, melt coconut oil and sauté onions until soft. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in ground cumin, coriander, turmeric, smoked paprika, chili powder, and garam masala; toast spices for about two minutes.
  4. Add beef cubes to the pot; brown on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Incorporate chickpeas, diced tomatoes, and coconut milk; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to low, cover partially, and simmer for at least 30 minutes until the beef is tender.
  7. While the curry simmers, prepare the garlic naan dough by mixing flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; gradually add yogurt while mixing until a soft dough forms.
  8. Knead lightly on a floured surface; roll into flat rounds using a rolling pin.
  9. Cook naan in a heated skillet over medium-high heat for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown spots appear.
  10. Serve the curry garnished with fresh cilantro and lime juice alongside warm garlic naan.
