  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth; combine with dry ingredients.
  4. In a small bowl, blend melted butter with brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  5. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan; sprinkle half the cinnamon filling over it. Add remaining batter followed by remaining filling; swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. For icing, whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over cooled bread before serving.
