  • 4 cod fillets (56 oz each)
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1½ tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Place the cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Allow to marinate for 15–30 minutes.
  3. To bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper and place the marinated cod inside. Bake for 12–15 minutes until fish flakes easily.
  4. To pan-sear: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the cod for 3–4 minutes on each side, basting with extra marinade as it cooks.
  5. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
