  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300F (150C). Grease and flour a bundt or tube pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until light and fluffy (5–7 minutes).
  3. Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Alternately mix in sifted flour and whole milk, starting and ending with flour until just combined.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and optional almond extract.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour and 25–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
