  2. In a small saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, sugar, and kosher salt. Stir until fully mixed.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour the hot mixture over the onions in the mason jar and screw on the lid tightly.
  5. Allow to cool at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 30 minutes before use.
